Update to the textile Pantone products

Pantone have updated their products in the Fashion, Home + Interiors series 210 new colors and with this update they have also made the fully official switch from TPX numbers to the new TPG colors. This has no effect on the colors as such, but the colors have only changed their name from TPX to TPG. So let’s say you have an old color called TPX 18-3628 the new name will be TPG 18-3628. 112 New Pantone Colors

Pantone was launch 112 new colors to the graphic range of Pantone Guide. Not all Pantone guide will be affected in this update. An overview of the effected guides can be found below. Working with Pantone in digital print

We had a chat with danish company Roll-up Trykkeriet on how they work with Pantone Colors in digital printing. Roll-up Trykkeriet prints roll-up banners for the Scandinavian market. X-Rite acquire Pantone

In a 180 million dollars deal X-Rite have acquired Pantone. Both companies will still operate as independent companies. The strategy between X-Rites acquisition of Pantone, is a slow incorporation of the Pantone color libraries directly in X-Rites hardware solutions. With Pantone as the default colors standard in the Graphic and Textile industry X-Rite will gain a major competitive advantage in companies using X-Rites instruments and Pantone colors.

Pantone introduces the Pantone Plus Series

Pantone have just introduced the Pantone Plus series which is the most extensive upgrade of the Pantone Matching System (PMS) in the last decade. Pantone Plus is developed from the ideas from Goe series at was introduced in 2007 and this introduction will add 566 new colors. Pantone Lighting Indicator

When you are viewing colors the light condition have a major role to play. In the graphic industry colors are always evaluated under D50 light. Unfortunately many designers and printers don’t take light seriously enough and viewing a colors under the right light conditions can really can how a color looks. Update of the Pantone Plus Series with 336 new colors

Pantone have updated with 336 new colors to the Pantone Plus system, so the total amount of colors in Pantone Matching System is 1.677. The update will come in form of supplement guide that will be added to all new purchases and the supplement guide can of course also be ordered separately. The new colors will be number from 2001 to 2336. These Pantone Guide will from now have supplement guide. Pantone updates the Pantone guides 2015

Pantones will update their graphic Pantone Guides on 21 of april 2015. This time is just an update of the coverdesign and there won’t be added any new colors or tools to the guides. The update is mainly done as a price adjustment because of currecny adjustent between Dollar and Euro. The new product codes can be found in the table below.

Pantone updates with new colors in 2014

Pantone has today updated their Pantone guides under the slogan “Make It Brilliant”. This time they have added 84 new colors,  but not all Pantone guides will be affected by the added colors. So the metallics, CMYK and Pastel & Neon guide are still the same, so there is no need to update these before they are more then 2 years old.
